Prerequisites & Participant Readiness

  • Working knowledge of at least one programming language
  • Familiarity with Git, repositories, branches, commits, and pull requests
  • Understanding of software development, debugging, testing, and code-review practices
  • Basic familiarity with an IDE such as Visual Studio Code, JetBrains, Eclipse, or Visual Studio
  • Basic understanding of AWS services is recommended
  • Familiarity with AWS CLI, APIs, IAM, CloudWatch, or infrastructure-as-code is beneficial
  • Java or .NET experience is recommended for application-transformation labs
  • No previous Amazon Q Developer course attendance is required
  • Hands-on IDE activities require access to an existing eligible Amazon Q Developer subscription/environment
  • Amazon Q Developer IDE plugins are scheduled to reach end of support on April 30, 2027; migration planning is therefore included in this programme
