TOC Modules

Concepts
  • Understanding Gemini Code Assist Standard and Enterprise across the software-development lifecycle
  • Understanding AI-assisted quality engineering versus conventional QA automation
  • Mapping Requirement → Code → Test → Review → Defect → Release quality workflows
  • Understanding deterministic testing versus probabilistic AI-generated assistance
Practical activities
  • Configuring Gemini Code Assist within a supported development environment
  • Exploring code generation, explanation, testing, debugging, and transformation capabilities
  • Mapping existing QA activities to suitable Gemini Code Assist workflows

Scenarios

Feature Development to Production Quality Gate

Requirement → Gemini-Assisted Test Design → Development → Unit & Integration Tests → Code Review → Defect Resolution → Regression → Quality Gate → Release

Participants design an end-to-end AI-assisted quality workflow for a new software feature, strengthening requirement coverage, testing, defect prevention, traceability, and release assurance.

Production Failure to Preventive Quality Improvement

Production Failure → Logs / Crash Evidence → Gemini Debugging → Root-Cause Analysis → Fix → Regression Tests → Code Review → Preventive Controls

Participants investigate a production application failure using Gemini Code Assist, validate the identified root cause, implement and test remediation, and establish reusable controls to prevent recurrence.

## Current Capability Reference

Gemini Code Assist Standard and Enterprise currently support code generation and completion, unit-test generation, debugging, code explanation, code transformation, and contextual assistance in supported IDEs. Enterprise also supports code customization using organisational repositories.

As of September 2026, Gemini Code Assist access is focused on **Standard and Enterprise** editions; the former consumer/individual IDE experience was discontinued in June 2026. The consumer GitHub code-review app was also shut down in July 2026, while the Enterprise GitHub offering was not affected.
