TOC Modules

Concepts
  • Understanding Claude Code as an agentic coding and IT engineering assistant
  • Understanding how Claude Code reads files, edits code, executes commands, and interacts with development tools
  • Understanding the Analyse → Plan → Execute → Test → Review workflow
  • Identifying applications across development, support, operations, automation, and maintenance
Practical activities
  • Configuring Claude Code within a sample project environment
  • Exploring an unfamiliar codebase using natural-language questions
  • Mapping common IT activities to relevant Claude Code capabilities

Scenarios

Production Incident to Validated Resolution

Production Alert → Logs & Codebase Analysis → Claude Code Investigation → Root-Cause Hypothesis → Fix → Automated Tests → Regression Validation → Git Review → Support Documentation

Participants use Claude Code to investigate an application incident, trace the problem across the codebase, implement and validate remediation, and produce reusable operational documentation.

IT Change Request to Controlled Delivery

Change Request → Plan Mode → Dependency Analysis → Implementation → Tests → Git Workflow → Automated Checks → Technical Review → Deployment Readiness

Participants build a controlled Claude Code-assisted engineering workflow that converts an IT change request into tested, documented, review-ready code while maintaining human approvals and security controls.

## Current Capability Reference

Claude Code currently supports direct codebase exploration, file editing, command and test execution, Git operations, non-interactive CLI workflows, configurable permissions, project instructions through CLAUDE.md, MCP connectivity, and GitHub Actions-based automation.

Claude Code also uses permission controls for potentially consequential actions, and Anthropic documents enterprise deployment patterns involving corporate proxies, LLM gateways, Amazon Bedrock, and Google Vertex AI.
