Programme Objectives

  • Build foundational capability in using Firebase Studio to translate product requirements into working application prototypes.
  • Convert product ideas, user journeys, features, and acceptance criteria into structured app blueprints and interactive experiences.
  • Explore Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, previews, and hosting to understand realistic product behaviour beyond static mockups.
  • Apply iterative prompting, testing, feedback, and refinement to validate product concepts with stakeholders.
  • Understand Firebase Studio's 2026–2027 sunset and build migration-aware product workflows that can transition to Google AI Studio or Google Antigravity.

TOC Modules

Concepts
  • Understanding Firebase Studio as an agentic cloud-based application-development environment
  • Understanding Gemini assistance, App Prototyping, Code view, previews, and Firebase integration
  • Identifying product use cases across concept validation, feature exploration, and stakeholder demonstrations
  • Understanding prototypes as decision-support artefacts rather than proof of production readiness
Practical activities
  • Exploring an existing Firebase Studio workspace and application structure
  • Reviewing an existing sample app through both prototype and code perspectives
  • Mapping Product Need → Firebase Studio Capability → Validation Output

Scenarios

Product Requirement to Validated Functional Prototype

Customer Need → User Stories → Structured Prompt → Existing Firebase Studio Workspace → App Blueprint → Prototype → Authentication / Data Flow → Preview Testing → Stakeholder Review → Product Decision

Participants translate a realistic product requirement into a working application experience and validate the critical journey against defined acceptance criteria before development commitment.

Existing Firebase Studio Product to Migration Roadmap

Existing Prototype → Feature & Data Review → Firebase Service Dependencies → Product Validation → Migration Assessment → Google AI Studio / Antigravity Path → Prioritised Transition Plan

Participants assess an existing Firebase Studio application and create a migration-aware roadmap that preserves validated product learning and core Firebase services.

## Current Capability Reference

**Important lifecycle note:** Firebase Studio is currently being sunset. **New workspace creation and new user signup were disabled on June 22, 2026**, while existing workspaces can continue to be developed, tested, and deployed until the **final Firebase Studio sunset on March 22, 2027**. Google recommends **Google AI Studio** for browser-based rapid prototyping and **Google Antigravity** for code-first agentic development. Core Firebase services such as Cloud Firestore, Authentication, and App Hosting are not affected by the Firebase Studio sunset. ([Firebase][1])

For existing workspaces, Firebase Studio still provides a **Code OSS-based IDE, Gemini workspace-aware assistance, application previews, Firebase integrations, testing tools, and deployment through Firebase App Hosting, Firebase Hosting, or Cloud Run**. ([Firebase][2])

The former App Prototyping Agent supports natural-language and image-driven application prototyping, blueprint generation, iterative refinement, testing, and Firebase-backed functionality; however, **new Prototyper workspace creation is no longer available**, so hands-on training should use existing eligible workspaces and teach transferable prototyping practices alongside migration planning. ([Firebase][3])
