Programme Objectives

  • Understand how AI-assisted application prototyping can support product discovery, concept validation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Translate product ideas, user requirements, workflows, and feature expectations into interactive application concepts.
  • Explore Firebase Studio's App Prototyping Agent and Gemini-assisted refinement workflow.
  • Understand how Firebase services such as Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and App Hosting support prototype development.
  • Recognise product-validation, security, privacy, technical-review, and migration considerations before moving prototypes toward production.

Who should attend

  • Product Managers
  • Product Owners
  • Service Managers
  • Digital Product Managers
  • Product Operations Professionals
  • Product Analysts
  • Business Analysts
  • Innovation Managers
  • Service Design Professionals
  • Product Strategy Professionals

Prerequisites & Participant Readiness

  • Basic understanding of product or service-management concepts
  • Familiarity with customer needs, product requirements, or user journeys
  • Basic understanding of digital applications is helpful
  • No software-development expertise required
  • No previous Firebase experience required
  • For hands-on use, access to an existing Firebase Studio workspace is required because new workspace creation is no longer available

TOC Modules

Concepts
  • Understanding Firebase Studio as an AI-assisted full-stack development environment
  • Exploring Gemini, App Prototyping, Code view, preview, and Firebase integration concepts
  • Identifying product-management use cases for rapid concept exploration
  • Differentiating product prototyping from production application development
Practical activities
  • Exploring an existing or instructor-demonstrated Firebase Studio workspace
  • Reviewing the relationship between prompt, blueprint, application, and preview
  • Mapping Product Idea → Prototype → Validation → Technical Handoff

Scenarios

Product Idea to Interactive Proof of Concept

Customer Problem → Product Brief → App Blueprint → AI-Assisted Prototype → Core User Journey → Stakeholder Feedback

Participants convert a new digital-product idea into a prototype concept and evaluate whether the proposed experience sufficiently addresses the target customer problem.

Existing Prototype to Product Continuation Plan

Existing Firebase Studio Prototype → Feature Review → Firebase Service Mapping → Validation Gaps → Migration Decision → Technical Handoff

Participants review an existing prototype and determine which product requirements, workflows, and technical assets should be carried forward into the organization's future development environment.

## Current Capability Reference

As of **September 2026**, Firebase Studio is in a transition period. Google disabled **new Firebase Studio workspace creation and new-user signup on June 22, 2026**. Existing workspaces can continue to be accessed and used until Firebase Studio is shut down on **March 22, 2027**.

For existing workspaces, Firebase Studio still provides an agentic cloud development environment with **Gemini-assisted coding, application previews, testing tools, and Firebase integrations**. Its App Prototyping workflow can generate an application blueprint, code, and web preview from natural-language and multimodal requirements.

The App Prototyping workflow can integrate services such as **Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase App Hosting, Gemini Developer API, and Genkit**, making it useful for understanding how a product concept could progress from interface idea to a functional prototype.

For long-term use, Google recommends **Google AI Studio for browser-based rapid prototyping** and **Google Antigravity for code-first, agentic development**. Core Firebase services such as Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and App Hosting are not being discontinued with Firebase Studio.

**Catalogue Note:** Because Firebase Studio is already scheduled for retirement, this programme is most relevant for **existing Firebase Studio users, transition planning, and learning transferable AI-assisted prototyping workflows**. New organizational training investments should also consider Google AI Studio or Google Antigravity as the longer-term platform.
