Scenarios

Campaign Brief to Governed Multi-System Execution

Campaign Request → Copilot Studio Agent → Requirement Clarification → Approved Brand & Product Knowledge → Campaign Brief → Agent Flow → Marketing-System Tasks → Human Approval → Campaign Handoff → Status Monitoring

Participants design an intermediate campaign agent that transforms a business request into a structured, governed marketing workflow while maintaining approval over brand-sensitive and externally published content.

New Lead to Marketing Qualification & Follow-Through

New Lead / Engagement Event → Event Trigger → Agent Interpretation → CRM / Marketing Data → Validation & Enrichment → Qualification Logic → Agent Flow → Appropriate Routing → Follow-Up Task → Performance Monitoring

Participants build an event-driven lead workflow that combines AI-assisted interpretation with deterministic qualification and routing rules while preserving human control over sensitive customer and commercial decisions.

## Current Capability Reference

Microsoft's current Copilot Studio **generative orchestration** can interpret intent, create multi-step plans, and dynamically select relevant knowledge, tools, actions, topics, and other capabilities. Current guidance also recommends deterministic controls for mission-critical or irreversible activities rather than delegating every decision to generative reasoning.

Current enterprise **knowledge sources** can ground agents in Power Platform, Dynamics 365, websites, documents, Microsoft 365, and external systems. Copilot connectors can index external organisational information into Microsoft Graph while respecting source-level permissions.

For real-time marketing-system integration, **Power Platform connectors** can read or write information and trigger actions through APIs, whereas Copilot connectors are designed primarily for searchable, semantically indexed enterprise knowledge.

Current Copilot Studio agents can also use **event triggers** to initiate agent plans from external events rather than direct user messages, enabling controlled proactive workflows such as responding to new records or status changes.

Copilot Studio currently provides repeatable **Agent Evaluation**, including reusable test sets that can be rerun and compared as an agent evolves. Evaluations can also be triggered through connectors and incorporated into automated quality workflows.

Current analytics provide visibility into overall agent effectiveness, custom business metrics, usage, knowledge-source performance, errors, and other operational signals, enabling marketing teams to connect agent behaviour with campaign and process outcomes.
